Tutorials and Pastoral Support

Each student is assigned a personal tutor and tutor group. These groups have Year 12 and Year 13 student members. The personal tutor will provide individual care, support and guidance and will monitor academic progress. The personal tutor delivers a varied tutorial programme covering relevant topics such as motivation, organisation, how to study independently, personal finance, UCAS and futures and preparing for exams.

The tutor, Sixth Form Student Manager and Head of Sixth Form are experienced in the UCAS and Higher Apprenticeship process and provide an on-going programme of support from researching courses and options, writing personal statements to interview coaching.

Academic Mentor

Students also have the support of the B6 Academic Mentor whose purpose is to contribute and develop academic mentoring, to support the development and implementation of strategies which will contribute towards effective learning and achievement across Bradgate Sixth Form.

Tutorial Programme

Students cover key elements of PSHE through the B6 Tutorial Programme which is led by The Head of Sixth Form and B6 Tutors.  Both Year 12 and Year 13 have a Tutorial Programme which covers mental wellbeing, physical health, study skills, The VESPA Mindset Programme, Road Safety (drugs, alcohol and mobile phone misuse), first aid, RSE, finance, the electoral system, PREVENT, as well as sessions acknowledging important events and dates such as Black History Month, Human Rights, LGTBQ+, Holocaust Memorial Day etc.
